Archivum Lithuanicum receives a grant

Archivum Lithuanicum is an annual journal edited by Giedrius Subacius. The Journal is focused on the social history of the Lithuanian language, and concentrates on the usage of language, the relationships among various spheres of usage, attitudes toward language, societal impact on language, and on language influence on society. Among the goals of Archivum Lithuanicum is the stimulation of theoretical ideas about text history and editing practices.

The journal is being issued by 6 academic institutions: Universities of: Klaipeda, Siauliai, Illinois at Chicago, Vilnius, and Vytautas Magnus, also by the Research Institute of the Lithuanian Language (in Vilnius).

The Science Council of the Republic of Lithuania will support the journal with a grant of $36,000.00 to publish the volumes 16 and 17 in 2014 and 2015.
