Michal Pawel Markowski directs the Conrad Festival for the seventh time

Polish Professor and Department Head Michal Pawel Markowski, directs, for the seventh time, the major European literary event The Conrad Festival in Kraków, Poland. The festival takes place October 19-25. Over 150 eminent guests from all over the world will attend, including Martin Amis, Jonathan Franzen, Robert Cover, Margarethe von Trotta, Kamel Daoud, Edward Hirsch, and Svetlana Alexievich, who was recently honored with the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature.
