International Joseph Conrad Literary Festival

Michal Markowski, Professor in the Department of Slavic and Baltic Languages, is directing the International Joseph Conrad Literary Festival in Krakow October 21-27. This festival is one of the biggest literary events in Central Europe with the most accomplished writers from Poland and the world. It is not dedicated to Joseph Conrad but took his name for a literary patronage as he was a Polish aristocrat who made his literary career in a foreign language.
