Students in our department recently celebrated Slavic Halloween—Dziady. They learned about traditional Slavic customs associated with this holiday, recited poetry in Polish and Russian, sang songs, and enjoyed delicious food. The event, organized by Izolda Wolski-Moskoff, included a discussion of these ancient customs. Her students (pictured here) performed selections from Adam Mickiewicz’s poetic drama Dziady, which inspired the theme of the celebration!
